    I think that this is a great video. I recently wrote about the same subject in my blog. I think that companies need to ask themselves five qualifying questions to see if they have the opportunity to generate revenue by fostering an online social network:

    Do you act as a broker of goods or services?

    Do you provide content or advice to a significant percentage of a specific industry or consumer segment?

    Are you facing new competitors who generate revenue by aggregating audience around your content or by providing meta-content?

    Do you have data or knowledge within your organization that is obscure to your clients?

    Do you serve an audience that is highly fragmented?

    Very nice mapping of revenue models. I was moderating a panel on social media in Nov.08 and 'social gaming' was seen as the savior of SNS - with avatars in the mix for good balance.
