Character Comes from God Character Comes from God Presentation Transcript

    • Character come from God
    • Isaiah 53:6
      • We all, like sheep, have gone astray,        each of us has turned to his own way;        and the LORD has laid on him        the iniquity of us all.
    • Jeremiah 17:9
      • The heart is deceitful above all things        and beyond cure.        Who can understand it?
    • Romans 3:23
      • for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
    • Galatians 5:18-21
      • 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law. 19 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
    • We are sinners
    • 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
      • 9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
    • Ephesians 5:5-7
      • 5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. [ a ] 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7 Therefore do not be partners with them.
    • Revelation 21:8
      • 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."
    • Sins Separates us from God
    • John 3:16
      •   16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, [ a ] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
    • Romans 5:8
      • 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
    • Romans 6:23
      • 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
    • 1 Peter 2: 24-25
      • 24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. 25 For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
    • 1 Peter 3:18
      • 18 For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit,
    • 1 John 1:7
      • 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
    • 1 John 1:9
      • 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
    • God loves us and sent His Son, Jesus Christ
    • 2 Peter 3:9
      • 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
    • Acts 4:12
      • 12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
    • Acts 16:30-31
      • 30 He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
      • 31 They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household."
    • John 1:12
      • 12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—
    • John 3:36
      • 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him."
    • Romans 10:9-10
      • 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
    • Ephesians 2:4-10
      • 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
    • Repent and Accept Christ
    • 2 Corinthians 5:17
      • 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
    • John 14:16-17
      • 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
    • 1 Corinthians 6:19
      • 19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
    • Galatians 4:6-7
      • 6 Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, [ a ] Father." 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.
    • Galatians 5:22-23
      •   22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
    • At Salvation, God’s plan is to change our lives
    • 2 Peter 3:18
      • 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.
    • Ephesians 4:20-23
      •   20 You, however, did not come to know Christ that way. 21 Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds;
    • Romans 12:1-2
      •   1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
    • Philippians 2:13
      • 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.
    • Philippians 1:6
      • 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
    • Therefore, building character is God’s plan for our lives
    • Now
      • Have you received Christ as your personal savior?
    • Now
      • Have you ask Him to renew your mind?
    • Now
      • Have you make a commitment to Him to be serious about cooperating with God in order to develop character in your lives?
    • Think
      • What areas of your lives you would personally want to work on.
      • List it and send me your list tomorrow by email.
