  • How to Design Vinyl
    Banners for Your Salon
    • The most-successful salons use advertising to their
advantage. Word-of-mouth is great for salons, but it’s
    beyond your control.
    • You can control your signage, however, and vinyl banners
are a great signage option for salons.
    • Here’s a guide to help with the salon banner design
    process:
  • Banner Size
    • Figure out where your banner will be used and then find the
    dimensions of that space.
    • Outdoor banners will be viewed from a distance, so they should
    be at least 3’x6’.
    • Banners used inside your salon can be smaller (~2’x4’).
  • Message
    • Feature important messages like grand openings and special
promotions as large as possible, along with yoursalon’s name and
    contact information.
    • Your message should be encourage the customer to book an
    appointment.
    • Use just enough information to pique the customer’s interest, but
not so much that they are overwhelmed.
  • Visuals
    • Banner fonts should be simple and bold—you’ll be tempted to use
intricate script fonts, but don’t, because they’re hard-to-read.
    • Your color scheme should match the overall look of your salon.
    • Bright colors are great for sales, but use more subdued colors if this
is more consistent with your brand.
  • Finishing/Location
    • Select an outdoor finish if you want to hang your banner outside your
salon (the banner is printed on a thicker vinyl material and the edges
are reinforced to prevent damage from wind).
    • For indoor salon banners, add grommets for easy hanging or use
retractable banner stands to display them vertically.
