Well, it was tough at-first, because even with the backing we
didn’t have enough for a formal advertising campaign. I knew we had the trucks, though, so I bought car magnets that said “Moritz Moving Company” and listed our phone number. I put them on the doors and the tailgates of the trucks so when people would see us around town they’d jot down our number.
How much of a response did you get from the magnetic signs?
At first, not so much—I guess people just had to register who we
were. After awhile, though, the calls really began to pick up. So much so in fact that our receptionist became full-time! I figured I could make the trucks even more visible, so I added car window decals to each of the rear windows, which only led to more calls.
