For more than 25 years, Colorado Healthcare Communicators has held the annual Gold Leaf Awards ceremony. The competition is exclusive to Colorado organizations that provide or sponsor healthcare services and advertising agencies and consultants who submit entries on behalf of a healthcare organization.

Lora Louise Broady , Professor of Applied Communications, University of Denver
Current and past Gold Leaf Judge
Lora Louise Broady has been marketing new technologies for over 20 years, specializing in the telecommunications and financial services industries. She holds a master’s in business administration from Dartmouth College’s Amos Tuck School and a bachelor’s degree from The Colorado College. She currently is a professor of Applied Communications at the University of Denver and is a marketing management consultant specializing in new product development and business process reengineering.

Judge’s Scoring System
Each entry is randomly assigned to three of the six judges for evaluation. After reviewing the two-page project summary and any supplemental material, the judges score the entries based on the submission requirements of planning/goals for the project, implementation, results/evaluation and overall project excellence.

Each entry can receive a total of 40 points — 10 points in each category — from each individual judge. With three judges scoring each entry, the total maximum number of points will equal 120.

The total score should be a sum no greater than 40. Write comments about the entry in the space provided. As best as possible, please explain the reason for your score. The results for each entry are tabulated and those entries scoring 85 to 100 points are awarded a Bronze Leaf Award, 101 to 110 points a Silver Leaf Award, and 111 to 120 points earned a Gold Leaf Award. Only the top three qualifying scores are awarded in each category.

Eligibility Requirements
Any Colorado healthcare organization
Any in-state or out-of-state agency creating work for a Colorado healthcare organization
Any in-state agency creating work for an out-of-state healthcare organization

Entry Requirements
There is no limit to the number of entries an individual or organization can submit.
Summaries should be no more than two 8½ x 11" typed pages, 10-12 point font, double spaced.
Entries must consist of original work created between August 2009 and August 2010.

Submission Guidelines
A completed entry form must be attached to each entry. You may make copies of the entry form for multiple submissions.
Project needs to include a summary. Summaries should be no more than 8½ " x 11 " typed pages, 10-12 point font, double-spaced.

Summaries should include:
- Planning / Goals of Project
- Implementation of the Project
- Results / Evaluation of the Project
Each entry must be submitted in a standard 3-ring binder no larger than 2 " . The binder cover must include company name, contact information and category.
2010

Binders must contain supporting material including photos, letters, clippings, presentations, DVDs, CDs, and A/V tapes. Multimedia must be clearly labeled with the company, contact name, project information and category.
Finalists will be notified and asked to e-mail a brief summary and jpg image of the entry to be used during the awards ceremony.

All supporting material must be secure in the binder. CHC will not be responsible for lost or misplaced support material. Entries will be disqualified if they do not contain the required supporting material.
