Solid Edge Release Timing  For several years, Solid Edge has been on an approximately yearly release schedule  We now move to a standard yearly summer release  Generally June  May adjust slightly up or back, depending on release needs  ST4 is a shorter cycle than usual  As we move from an October ST3 to a July ST4  So…  ST4 – July 2011  ST5 – June 2012  ST6 – June 2013Solid Edge. ST4 License Changes• All Customers • ST4 licenses use a different encryption scheme and are not backward compatible with ST3 or older versions • To run multiple versions for testing purposes • Node-locked – use two different license files • Floating - run multiple daemons to run multiple versions• Node-locked Only • Node Locked will now use Composite Host ID (CID) • You will need to ―re-register‖ your machines using a CID rather than a Disk ID • You will not be able to run ST4 unless you re-register • Other than a 60 day grace period from initial shipment • You can register RIGHT NOW and your ST4 CID-based license will be automatically shipped when the software shipsSolid Edge. ST4 - Other Housekeeping Items• Windows XP Support • Microsoft dropped mainstream support for XP in April of 2009 • ST4 is the last version (REALLY, THIS TIME!) that will install on Windows XP • It will install, but we will not fix any XP-specific problems • ST5 will not install• Makevercurr • Discontinued with ST4 • Virtual machines are a much cleaner and more practical method of running multiple versions• EMS/MDS Translators • Some 15 years after retiring these products, we finally retire these translators in ST4 • Now THAT is long term customer support!Solid Edge.
