CAx tools • Decision for NX out of assembly capabilities (best in class) and our historical background, without evaluation • All development aside of hand sketches are made with CAD • Digital Mockup, large assembly is one important core functionality • All CAD parts, drawings, part list etc. are completely handled in the PLM system • Several additional formats are generated during the processes e.g. PDF, XVL, JT, STEP, Parasolid • For Simulation we use: FEM: Advanced FEA, FEMAP, Abaqus, Ansys (external partner) CFD: Adapco, several specialized tools Motion: NX Motion, Recur Dyn Helicopter Full Simulation: Flightlab© Marenco Swisshelicopter AG the future of helicopter

CAD methodics • A special CAD methodic is used to allow that a complete team can work on the helicopter without remodeling parts Modeling techniques Part Structures Interpart Structures Assembly techniques ….. • CAD methodic is also the basic for PLM implementation • Normally structures are directly generated automatically in the working process through the PLM integration (Part-Drawing, Raw Part-Machined Part, Link Structures etc.) • We use a part number with a manufacturer code this allows for explicit identification of purchased items • Assembly structures are cloned for different parts revision, the complete history, all configurations are in CAD available© Marenco Swisshelicopter AG the future of helicopter
