  3. 3. How To Reach Tirupati?Tirumala Venkateswara Temple is a Hindu temple on venkata,the seventh hill of Tirumala, near Tirupati in the Chittoordistrict of Andhra Pradesh. Devotees need to reach Reniguntaairport or Renigunta railway station to reach Tirupati. Chennaiairport can be another alternative to visit Tirupati. It takesapprox. 4 hours to reach Tirumala from Chennai airport viacool cabs. 3
  4. 4. “Darshan Timings”SarvadarsanamAs the name says, it means „darshan‟ for all. Around 50k devoteesvisits temple every day. Approx. 18-20 hours are allotted forsarvadarshanam depending on the number of devotees.Special Entry Darshan (Seeghra Darshan)The Seeghra Darshanm facility is introduced 0n 21-09-2009 by TTD toprovide quick Darshan for the devotees. The cost of the Ticket isRs.300/devotee.The darshan timings are the same as that for Sarvadarsanam.Special Entry Darshan TimingsSaturday,Sunday, 4.00am to 5.00am , 7.00am to 6.00pm andMonday 9.00pm to upto Ekantha seva.Tuesday, Wednesday 08.30am to 01.00pm ,Thursday 09.00am to 6.00 pm and 9.00pm to upto Ekanthaseva.Friday 10.00am to 6.00pm and 9.00pm to upto Ekanthaseva. 4

Divya DarshanThere are two ways of reaching tirmala by foot, one is through GaliGopuram and second is Srivari Mettu, Divya Darshan facility isprovided for pedestrian who come on foot to Tirumala through GaliGopuram or Srivari Mettu.Special Darshan for Physically disabled and AgedThis special darshan is arranged for the physically disabled and theaged, the infants along with parents through a separate gate at theMaha Dwaram,the main temple entrance. If necessary, such devotee isescorted by a volunteer. 5

Vaikuntam QueueThe entrance of the mandir for doing darshan is via Vaikuntan queuecomplex, the initial place where the queue of devotees for darshaninitiates.The huge complex is a combination of many inter-connectedhalls that leads devotees to the destined main temple where the idol isplaced. The queue is organized in a very efficient way such that everydevotee reaches to the main temple comfortably. The inter-connectedhalls are very clean and hygienic, TTD provides free of cost services tothe devotees in a queue.  Food is provided for the waiting pilgrims free of cost.  Milk, Coffee & Tea provided for waiting pilgrims free of cost.  Medical aid  Devotee can purchase TTD publications, calendars, photographs with minimal charges.  Wash Rooms.  CCTV, through which devotional programmes and music are relayed  Cloak rooms for devotees baggage near the Vaikuntam Queue Complex entrance  In entrance, Place where the foot wears are deposited.  There are volunteers who look after the devotees comfort s, they look after the facilities provided in the vaikuntam complex. 6
  7. 7. Sudarshan token SystemThe term was introduced to minimize the waiting time forSarvadarsanam. The token costs Rs. 50.The tokens are available at:1.Second Choultry (behind the Railway Station),2.Bhudevi Complex,3. Alipiri Tollgate,4.Sreenivasam in Tirupati,5.Srivari Sannidhi, Tirupati,6. RTC Bus stand in Tirupati, 7
  8. 8. “Stay free”In tirumala, TTD has facilated free stay in the huge dharamshalasaround the temple. Luxurious motels and guest houses are also availablethere. All bookings have to be made to the central office of the TTD.Most of the hotels and accommodations in Tirupati are centrallylocated at the outskirts of Tirupati. For your convenience we havefurther divided the places to stay in Tirupati under various categories,where you can easily choose the option according to your budget, needand choice. Hotels like Ramee Guestline , Fortune Kences, Hotel Mayura, etc also have luxurious facilities. 8
  9. 9. “Must visit places”Puskarini tankYou would findwater tank usuallynear every templepreaching Hinduism.The same wereconstructed duringancient or medievaltimes. The watertank developed wasstrictly created forthe idol, for God‟sbath, for cleaningprocedures of thetemple, etc. It is also used for drinking purposes inside the temple andalso by the priest and their families who live in the TTD premises. Thewater in the Pushkarini is very clean and divine. Swami Pushkarini was adelight tank of lord vishnu in Vaikuntham, and the same was brought toearth by Garuda, for the enjoyment of Shree Blaji. It is locatedadjacent to the Sri Venkateshwara temple. All devotees take bath in adivine tank before entering the temple. It is strongly believed that thepeople who bathes in the tank becomes pure, all the sins is beenexterminated by the divineness of the water. 9
  10. 10. The Akashganga WaterfallThe spiritual waterfall isbelieved to be fallingdirectly from heaven. It isapprox. 3 kms away fromthe main temple. Akashganga‟s water is utilized forShree Balaji‟s Bathing, thatis the prime usage of water.It is also used for theabhishekham of ShreeBalaji. The Papa Vinashanam (Sin Slayer) It is in the north 5 kms away from tirumala temple, it is another must visit place in tirupati to clean your sins. It is surrounded by beautiful hills, many tributaries from the hills meets the reservoir (Papa Vinashanam). To preserve the divineness TTD has developed a dam to maintain the flow of reservoir. 10
  11. 11. The Great Geological Arch (Shila Thoranam)It is located 1km away in thenorth; it says the story of lord‟stransformation into rock. It isvery unique and mysterious placeto be visited in Tirupati. Nobusses ply towards ShilaThoranam. You need to go by footor by private vehicle. It islocated at a 20 minute walk abledistance from varahswamitemple. TTD Gardens It occupies the area of 460 acres in tirupati and tirumala. The garden meets the needs of the temple. The for a and fauna of the garden is implicitly for shree balaji. It supplies flowers for mandapam, pandals and making garland of the idols in the temple. 11
  12. 12. Ashthana Mandapam The Ashthana Mandapam or Sadas Hall is an auditorium near the main temple complex. Cultural events are held here.Dhayana Mandiram(Museum)It is one of the ancientmuseums in India, It wasestablished in 1980. It is adatabase of articles, whitepapers. It has the completedetails of performing sevaof shree balaji in a veryspiritual way. It lists theprotocols of performingseva. 12
  13. 13. Shreevari PadaluAs per the ancient Hindu mythology, itis believed that „shreevari padalu‟ is aplace where “Shree Balaji” placed hisfeets for the first time. The footprints acknowledging the same can beseen at the top of Narayanagiri hill.Charismatic Tirumala temple is visiblefrom the hill.13
