Refrain from using profane or abusive language.3. Listen (don’t speak) while others are speaking.4. No chewing of gum; eating or drinking.5. Be quiet during Intercom announcements.6. Address teachers and peers with courtesy.7. No personal grooming in class.8. No cellular phones or other electronic devices are allowed.

  • 12. WHEN WORKING IN A GROUP …1. You must complete each group activity.2. Play your role in the group.3. You have the right to ask anyone else in your group for help.4. You have the duty to assist anyone who asks for help.5. Help other group members without doing their work for them.6. Everybody helps (this includes cleaning and packing).7. If no one in the group can help, decide a single group question to ask the teacher.

  • 14. WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED …1. HELP SOMEONE WHO NEEDS IT.2. BEGIN YOUR HOMEWORK.3. REVIEW YOUR VOCABULARY/GRAMMAR.4. WRITE YOUR JOURNAL ENTRY.5. BEGIN CLOSING WINDOWS (Period 4 at 3:08).
  • 15. WHEN THE BELL RINGS …“THE BELL IS A SIGNAL TO THE TEACHER”1. REMAIN SEATED.2. WAIT FOR INSTRUCTIONS.3. RETURN TEXTBOOKS.4. PACK YOUR BAGS QUIETLY.5. WAIT TO BE DISMISSED.
  • 16. IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY …1. DON’T PANIC.2. LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS QUIETLY.3. FIRE ALARM Line up quickly on the outside facing the staircase. Move as a group toward the big tree on the field. Stay with the group and look out for everyone.
  • 17. IN CASE OF EMERGENCY …4. LOCK DOWN/CODE RED Listen quickly and carefully. Remain quiet with windows and doors closed. Hit the light switch. Think about something pleasant or read.
  • 18. IN CASE OF EMERGENCY …5. IF SOMEONE FALLS ILL Don’t panic – there is no need to scream. Someone stay with the person. Someone take the Health Office Pass – get the nurse. Someone else call a teacher next door. Everyone else be responsible and help in whatever way you can inside the room.
  • 19. IF THE TEACHER IS ABSENT …1. SOMEONE TAKE CHARGE  Get the key from the Head of Department in 229A.  Take attendance and leave it on my desk.  Discuss the agenda.2. FOLLOW THE RULES AND PROCEDURES AND NO ONE WILL VISIT.3. STAY ON TASK4. SPEAK IN A LOW TONE5. STAY OFF THE CORRIDORS – grin and bear it.  If someone has a genuine emergency give them the appropriate pass.  Make a note of who had to leave and for what reason.6. DO NOT ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO COME IN.
  • 20. IF THERE IS A SUBSTITUTE …1. FOLLOW THE RULES AND PROCEDURES.2. BE RESPECTFUL.3. DO YOUR WORK.4. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS EVEN IF YOU DON’T AGREE.5. WE WILL FIGURE IT OUT TOGETHER LATER!
