WALK FOR NEPAL- BOSTON  Location : Revere Beach (America’s First Public Beach which was established in 1896)  600 – 800 expected walkers/ participants  Attendance of experts, enthusiasts, leaders of Nepalese Community  Popular Restaurants providing Nepalese food  Live music and concert / DJ Hem at the spin  Traditional “Panche Baja”,“Lakhe Nach” and much more by Boston Lok Susheli Samuha  Attractive raffle prizes  Activities for kids

Walk for Nepal Organizing Model Nepal koYuwa (NKY) NKY creates an organizing framework (legal, administrative, web and accounting) and mobilizes local leadership teams Local LeadershipTeams (e.g. DC, Dallas, NYC, Boston) Local Leadership team organizes the local walk and mobilizes NGOs (US-based or Nepal-based) to participate in the walk NGOs NGOs mobilize walkers to support their causes and share their major learning with each other Walkers Walkers mobilize their friends, family, colleagues and their networks to sponsor their walk and to also join the Walk.
  • 7. Walk for Nepal Campaign 2012 BOSTON 10 NGOs 200+ walkers $15k+ raised DALLAS 5 NGOs 220+ walkers 10k+ raised NEWYORK CITY 7 NGOs 150+ Walkers 10k+ raised WfN 2012: 15 NGOs, ~600 walkers, ~$35k raised

  • 9. How is my contribution distributed? 80% to participating organizations Your contributions 20% toWalk for Nepal Fund 50% to winning organization with highest $ 30% to the runner up 20% to the third
