      • Google Docs is a free, Web-based word processor , spreadsheet , and presentation application offered by Google .
      • It allows users to create and edit documents online while collaborating in real-time with other users.
      • Google Docs combines the features of two services, Writely and Spreadsheets, which were merged into a single product on October 10, 2006
      • Google Docs, allows you to store your documents, such as text files, presentations, and spreadsheets, and share them with others.
      • Existing documents can be imported, or new ones can be created in Google Docs.
      • Most file formats are accepted, including DOC, XLS, PPT, and RTF. Documents can be published as a webpage, or published in a blog
      • All files can be accessed from almost any computer with an Internet connection and are therefore safe from local hard drive failures.
      • With Google Docs, you have control over what documents others can see or edit, and what documents are review only, or what documents remain private.
      • Shared documents can be edited in real time by collaborators, even simultaneously.
      • Documents, spreadsheets, and presentations can be created within the application itself, imported through the web interface, or sent via email.
      • Documents can be tagged and archived for organizational purposes.
      • Collaboration between users is also a feature of Google Docs.
