4800600-22860000Art History Teapot Final Project Research Packet Ceramics II Mrs. Holtz & Mrs. Duckworth You should use this packet and additional sheets of paper to organize your research, thoughts and sketches for this final project. You will be required to submit a minimum of 15 pages of research, concept building with reference information, project development sketches, final detailed color drawings, and process steps and planning. Research should be very specific as outlined on the following pages. Your drawings should be highly detailed. Completing the steps below will meet the criteria for the research and planning component of this final project. These pages are worth 50% of your final “exam” grade. THIS RESEARCH AND PLANNING PACKET IS DUE ON THURSDAY, MAY 5th AND YOU WILL MEET WITH ME THAT DAY DURING CLASS TO GO OVER IT. My expectation is that your ideas and research will be more detailed and of a higher quality than what you have done on previous assignments. So take this seriously, but also have fun. Below is a list of art movements you will be researching and a few of the well-known artists involved within each movement. 
For each movement you will list characteristics that are unique to that style of art
Find 2 works of art from each artist listed. You should choose work that you like and could use as inspiration for your teapot. Print and attach the images within this packet. Include the title and date for each work. There are 16 artists listed, so when complete you should have 32 images.

Final Design Concept Development Pages Sketches and Notes Now that you have completed the research, choose 3 artists you find inspiration from for your teapot. It may be from their overall style or from a specific painting. In the space below, do several brainstorming and thumbnail sketches of teapot ideas based on the 3 chosen artists. You will then need to review your ideas and choose one final artist or artwork to move forward with. Final Design - 3 views THREE detailed color drawings, from a variety of angles. Drawings should illustrate what your final teapot will look like once complete – this includes shape, designs, colors, details, etc. Include as side notes or within drawings: 
Materials required for your teapot, and the process you will use to create each part (coil, wheel, etc.)
How your teapot will function – where is the spout, handle and lid?
What glaze process will you use?
Any additional information necessary for planning your piece.
Planning Sequence Sketch and explain the process you will use to complete this project. You may need more or less of the spaces provided but be thorough and complete. Visualize yourself going through the steps of creation and write down all the steps you take.
