Psalm 91 Reflection

Verse One He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Prayer Meditation “ I rest in You this morning, and ponder Your magnificent ways. There is no one like You.”

Verse Two I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Prayer Meditation: “ In You I am hidden from every storm in life, and every falsehood. You protect me from every stronghold and hunters who desire me for prey. In you I am free and secure.”

Verse Three Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, [and] from the noisome pestilence. Prayer Meditation: “ You snatch me from evil foes of Your Ways. You see every plot and snare that tries to engulf me from the destruction of Your enemies.”

Verse Four He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth [shall be thy] shield and buckler. Prayer meditation: “ You shut off and block Your enemies by weaving me in Your feathers and hide me in the corners of Your pinions. Your Love is a shield to me which keeps me safe and secure.”

Verse Five Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; [nor] for the arrow [that] flieth by day; Prayer Meditation: “ Oh, Lord. I am not dreadful or in gloom by fear of their branding mark they try to put upon me, from their arrows and plots. No, not today…tomorrow…or ever.”

Verse Six [Nor] for the pestilence [that] walketh in darkness; [nor] for the destruction [that] wasteth at noonday. Prayer Meditation: “ In You I will not be branded by their misery, or destruction that come to ruin my spiritual joy of being one in Your habitation.”

Verse Seven A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; [but] it shall not come nigh thee. Prayer Meditation: “ Many troops, times a million who try to multiply themselves against You, will fall prostrate in the pit with Your outstretched hand. None can compare to Your greatness.”

Verse Eight Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Prayer Meditation: “ You know their thoughts, motives, plans and You will make full retribution against wickedness and the evil one, who are hostile against You.”

Verse Nine Because thou hast made the LORD, [which is] my refuge, [even] the most High, thy habitation; Prayer Meditation: “ Through these adversities I am becoming fixed and fashioned in You. You cause me to arise higher and higher, and You insert me in Your dwelling to extend Your boundaries in me, by Your very breath.”

Verse Ten There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. Prayer Meditation: “ Nothing that is bad, or displeasing, will cause me to be broken into million of pieces will be brought near or overtake me, because You have made Your dwelling real to me.”

Verse Eleven For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. Prayer Meditation: “ You dispatch Your angels, like deputies; messengers, who have acknowledged Your Covenant to go forth and uphold Your promises to Your people. They are always on guard to keep me in all my Ways, because I trust in You.”

Prayer Meditations: “ Your angels lift me up; carry me away, and assist me always to steal away from Your enemies. Lest I walk in my journey and be a tale-bearer; slanderer, against Your covenant with a hard heart of unbelief.”

Every crawling thing with venom; everything that has learned to hunt and roar at youth, and everything that tries to hide itself in the deep of the waters shall be trampled.”

Verse Fourteen Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. Prayer Meditation: “ You have caused me to trust in Your Love for me, and in Your Love will You cause me to slip out of the ways of the wicked, and cause me to always ascend and rise above every foe.”

Prayer Meditation: “ You constantly call out, recite, cry out with a loud voice Your Covenant to me. I will answer You with a song; melody, as Your arm of war protects me and honor me, by keeping me in Your dwelling place forever.”

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I [will be] with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.

Prayer Meditation:

“ You constantly call out, recite, cry out with a loud voice Your Covenant to me. I will answer You with a song; melody, as Your arm of war protects me and honor me, by keeping me in Your dwelling place forever.”

Verse Sixteen With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. Prayer Meditations: “ You alone fulfill my desires, to excess. You alone open my eyes to see You in every battle. You alone give me victory and deliverance.”
