They are also the partner-of-choice for leading globalcounterparties in regional syndications.Strategically positioned this forward looking institution is hiring aHead of Large Corporates to drive its business strategy across theUnited Arab Emirates. As the bank continues to evolve the emphasiswill initially be on creating efficiencies and optimizing the currentteam. As there are only a handful of banks of this vintage, theCorporate Bank has a strong bastion of clients which require hightouch bespoke service. The Head of Large Corporates will be focusedon delivering quality service and improving the ability of the team todeliver sophisticated Trade Finance, Treasury, Transactional Banking,Structured Finance and Loan Syndication to clients with a turnover ofmore than one billion AED in revenue, including Government entitiesof this size.Reporting directly to the Head of Corporate and Institutional Bankingthe Head of Large Corporates will be part of a change initiative thatwill optimize the team’s performance. Managing a team of eight directreports the successful candidate will have a strong sense of talentmanagement and performance improvement.The chosen candidate will be responsible for given strategic directionto each segment under their span of control, including LargeCorporate, Government, Debt Capital Markets and Structured Finance.The successful candidate will work hand in hand with the Head ofCorporate Banking to streamline the Corporate Bank’s processes andwill play a key role in developing the bank’s best practices for the 21stCentury. A deep understanding of operations, front office, regulation,risk, client management, team building and related competencies willbe required. The Head of Large Corporates will have to be holistic intheir approach to the assignment and will possess a deep andcommanding knowledge of Corporate Banking complemented by theability to provide leadership to their team.

Head of Large Corporates UAE Based BankThe RoleThe Head of Large Corporates will be the champion of the banks brandand will be responsible for institutions positioning in the segment.They will possess the vision for growth within the division and willhave a clear direction on where the segment is heading. As thecustodian of the Large Corporates sector the chosen candidate will beintimately in tune with market developments and will be able to adjustthe credit portfolio as required by the risk appetite of the bank. Theverve and brio with which the successful candidate develops thebusiness must be tempered by a deep understanding of risk.The incumbent will be responsible for giving direction to their team.The ability to set clear goals and a working knowledge of successmetrics will be critical to drive the team to the next level. They will beresponsible for the setting and achievement of all targets with fullaccountability for results. As the Head of Large Corporates developsthe team they will be responsible for ensuring Emirtization ischampioned.The preferred candidate will have the ability to develop and groom thenext generation of leaders for the bank. Adhering to the highest ethicalstandards the incumbent will ensure all decision making is unbiasedand that a system based on merit is implemented. They will create anenvironment which motivates and energizes the team.The Head of Large Corporates will lead the development of a teamwhich can effectively cross sell to its customers with a keen eye fordeveloping the off balance sheet side of the business. Taking more of aconsultative approach the team will be recognized for its high qualitystaff who are able to provide solutions and create value for theirclients. The successful candidate will have the ability to structure andapprove complex transactions which help ensure profitability and arein line with the credit appetite of the bank.The Head of Large Corporates will be expected to lead therelationships of the bank with a focus on corporate banking, treasuryand trade products, syndication mandates, creating club deals,providing assistance on structured transactions and sell down largetransactions. They will work closely with the banks leadership todeliver the Corporate banking goals for the institution. Innovative andinsightful the chosen candidate will develop new strategies or identifytried and tested methodologies that work with a macro view ofincreasing both the top and bottom line of the bank’s business.The Head of Large Corporates is a member of the MarketingCommittee and various other committees as required.

Head of Large Corporates UAE Based BankCandidate QualificationsKey Strengths and Abilities Candidates for the role of Head of Large Corporates should have;  12+ years working in Corporate or Wholesale banking environment with direct exposure to large organizations with an annual turnover of more than one billion AED per year.  Commanding knowledge of Treasury, Trade Finance, Loan Syndication, Structured Finance and Cash Management.  Exposure to process improvement and preferably would have successfully increased the performance of a team by creating efficiency or streamlining processes.  Deep understanding of UAE banking market, its clients and the subtleties of the region’s relationships.  Experience driving off balance sheet growth of a corporate or wholesale bank.  Experience with Talent Management and Performance Improvement Projects.  Proven leadership capabilities and ability to create consensus with direct reports, managers and senior stakeholders.  Excellent communication skills.  Ambition and drive to develop as a Manager.Experience and Credentials Required The preferred candidate will have more than 12 years of prior experience in corporate banking with a history of creating tangible results. Candidates should be comfortable managing a team and are aspire to become better people managers. An attested university degree is mandatory and will be required for this position.
