I am currently working as National Program Manager with United Nations (ILO Bangladesh)
since 2008, overseeing RMG Centre of Excellence program, private sector engagement, and
workplace learning & productivity.
I am an MBA from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), the country’s most prestigious
Business School graduated in 2001; started my career in the year of 1995 with Bangladesh
Army. Then I joined PRAN Group as Finance Manager leaving Military career as Captain in the
year of 2000. Switching into the Development Sector I then worked for many International
Organizations and Donor Agencies in various capacities and was in charge of several big
projects. I acted as Business Development Consultant for World Bank (IDA) and USAID (ATDP)
projects and worked for capacity building of the partner organizations. I also served as Head of
Operation of Land O’ Lakes Inc. and managed the total supply chain and commercial activities
of the organization. I in my brilliant 20 years career am also in succession a Professional
Practitioner for Productivity Enhancement Programs (Operational Excellence, Kaizen, 5S, 3S,
Lean, TQM, JIT,…), UN Staff college certified National Facilitator for Entrepreneurship
Development, LOL (Land O’ Lakes) accredited Facilitator on HACCP, Australia TAFE Hunter
Institute certified Trainer of Training & Assessment in Education (TAE), and ILO accredited
Master Trainer for industry trainer & assessor program.
I being a Program Management & Value Chain Specialist acted as the Coordinator for the
biggest Market Development Project implemented by Katalyst, where I led the Winrock
International component of USD 6 million. I have phenomenal experience in making market
work for the poor (M4P), especially for the women empowerment. I have been recommended
as an incredible motivational speaker; conducted many soft skills training programs for
corporate professionals, TOT on entrepreneurship for Industry skills Councils, Bangladesh
women chamber and SME Foundation. I also conducted sessions on occupational safety &
health, and productivity development for Corporate Houses. I conducted training on “Value
Chain Analysis: making market work for the poor” for USAID, DFID, SDC and CIDA projects.
Being a Private Sector Development Specialist I am a Professional Project Proposal / Business
Plan Creator through which many development organizations as well as commercial
organizations got credits as well as grants from donor agencies and banks; some of them are
flourishing today and operating successfully. I helped a number of private sector trade bodies

2. develop project proposals for EU SME competitiveness grant scheme and 100% were awarded
with funds.
I have the key mobilizer of building 9 industry skills councils (ISCs), and 4 Centres of
Excellences (CoEs) in Bangladesh. With the amazing success of my private sector engagement
in developing ISCs and CoEs, I am currently asked to assist in forming centre of Excellence for
RMG, the largest sector in country, which already took its legal & infrastructure shape and the
Honourable Prime Minister of Bangladesh has inaugurated the CEBAI (Centre of Excellence for
Bangladesh Apparel Industry) in Dec 2014. Recently I am one of the pioneer figures in the Skills
Reform Initiatives i.e. competency based training & assessment (CBT&A) in Bangladesh. I had
concrete input in developing Bangladesh National Skills Development Policy (NSDP), which has
been approved in 2012 and currently is under implementation. I have been working as Icon in
promoting workplace learning and productivity. I have been the spokesperson to represent my
organizations in Many Countries like Japan, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, India, and Pakistan. I
am also invited to present key note speeches by UK British Council, GIZ, Swisscontact, World
Vision, Indian Apprenticeship Board, NIMI, India on Skills, productivity and different other
subjects.
