One of effort of school dental health program for elementary school (UKGS) is dental health education, and the method of the lecturing is most common used. Based from the phenomena, the development of a new strategy in dental health education is needed for school dental program. This study is specifically designed to examine the efficacy of role playing compared to the lecture method for dental health aducation. The subjects were the third and fifth grade students from St.Paulus elementary school, west jakarta. Preliminary test and post test, were carried out to assess the improvement of knowledge in students. One group using lecture method and another group using role playing method. From the analyze using t-test by p=0,000 that's why there is differentation and from the average (Mean) shown on the counseling by playing method. Result show that are increase of knowlwdge on both counseling group, but seen a higher increase on role playing ethod group 91,7838) than lecture method (0,4211). It suggested that the role playing method can be recommended to be used for dental health education.
