  1. 1. The Opening Ceremony of the 2010 Scottish Games
  2. 2. THE TORCH The torch has been designed with the games logo and in the colours of the Scottish flag, it was lit at Edinburgh Castle.
  3. 3. COUNTDOWN AND WELCOME
  4. 4. The Games logo is presented
  5. 5. ACT ONE – THE CLYDE FORMS The river Clyde forms and man starts to inhabit the area that will become the City of Glasgow.
  6. 6. Slowly the area begins to become fertile and nature begins to grow from the rivers waters.
  7. 7. Trees begin to grow
  8. 8. Nature and wildlife begin to inhabit the area.
  9. 9. Glasgow becomes an area of colour and nature, as our boat continues to sail through.
  10. 10. ACT TWO – SHIPBUILDING & INDUSTRY Glasgows famous shipbuilding industries begin to devlop on the Clyde.
  11. 11. Huge factories appear and the city builds the biggest and best ships in the world.
  12. 12. The cranes begin to appear and have made Glasgow an industrial powerhouse.
  13. 13. The industries are at their full might, but slowly they begin to decline.
  14. 14. ACT THREE - MODERNISATION As our boat sails on it witnesses a new era as Glasgow begins to modernise. From the ashes of the shipyards comes the science centre and the Arc bridge.
  15. 15. Projections of Glasgow as it is today, a new and exciting City.
  16. 16. ACT FOUR – LET THE GAMES BEGIN As the boat disappears, the logo is again shown.
  17. 17. Glasgows vibrancy and the hearalding of the start of the Games brings about colour and excitement.
  18. 18. From the logo, huge white strands come out to the field.
  19. 19. These convey messages to the athletes
  20. 20. The lights dim as each inspirational word is lit up
  21. 21. THE CAULDRON
  22. 22. The cauldron decends to the floor where it is lit by Scotguy
  23. 23. It then returns to its high spot where it will burn for 14 days over the City of Glasgow
  24. 24. FIREWORKS The fireworks celebration leave Hampden Park, where they follow a route along the Clyde. Ending up at Glasgow Green , where the ceremony oofficial comes to a close.
