  2. 2. 1. Having downloaded the Chekhov App from the Store, open the App and click on the ‘Get Started’ arrow.
  3. 3. 2. Any stories you have already started will appear in the My Stories list. To create a new story, click the ‘+’ icon at the bottom of the screen.
  4. 4. 3. Type in the name of your story, and then click on the green tick. You will now see your new story in the ‘My Stories’ list.
  5. 5. 4. Select your new story and add information such as your name as the author; the language the story is written in; and a short description.
  6. 6. 5. Now scroll down, and choose where your story will be available. [Hint: tick the boxes for ‘South Africa’ ‘United Kingdom’, ‘United States’, and ‘Rest Of World’]
  7. 7. 6. Choose ‘All available markets’ under the Publish to Windows Phone icon & tick the box under the Publish to Print icon. Then click the green arrow.
  8. 8. 7. You are now ready to write your story! Click the ‘+’ icon at the bottom of the screen to create your first page.
  9. 9. 8. Click ‘Choose Template’ to decide how you want your page to look – you can have a picture at the top, or on either side of your text.

  18. 18. 17. You can use Preview at any time to see how a page will look to a reader. When you’re finished, click the ‘Home’ icon to return to your My Stories page.
  19. 19. 18. All done? Happy with how your story looks and sounds? Then click on the ‘…’ icon at the top of the screen.
  20. 20. 19. Click ‘publish’ to submit your finished story for review and for publication around the world.
  21. 21. 20. Chekhov will automatically check that you haven’t missed anything - and will let you know if you have! Choose the ‘edit’ icon to make any changes, then submit it again.
  22. 22. 21. That’s it! Your story will be stored on your phone & sent for publication the next time you connect to wifi or to your network data service. Once approved, it will appear in the App Store for people across the world to download and enjoy 
