cators, students and educational publisher digitalize the teaching.
OVERVIEW

3. Hoyu approached Savvycom to develop a smart teaching and study assistance
solution for Japanese market. This innovative system consists of two modules:
website and mobile applications.
This is a project with high logic complexity that requires Savvycom to employ
PDF Engine to analyze PDF file's structure, (the number of pages in PDF file
and their size), then render images at different size based on contents of each
page and display them on screen.
While the website, also known as PDF Authorizing Tool acts like an online
PDF editor and will be used by e-book Publishers, it allows them to create
a PDF file and modify it by adding interactive elements such as image,
video and slide presentation.
Mobile application will process and display these contents on PDF file and
is targeted at teachers and student to help digitalize all teaching process.

Creating an eBook with interactive ele-
ments using Adobe Indesign is complicat-
ed and requires professional skills theoreti-
cally. The problem is to develop a tool that
even people who are not familiar with Inde-
sign or technology can drag and drop
different types of media into ebook file and
finish the job.
In order to read media file format, PDF
files are converted into HTML5 then pub-
lishers can add image, video or audio file.
If there is any change on file content or
structure, only changed data will be down-
loaded to ensure a decent transfer speed.
The system provides smart integration
and buttons for book makers to create an
e-book that functions a lot like a website
or mobile application.
Overlap modification
Creating a book requires a team that con-
sists of many members. It will lead to an
issue where more than one individual is
responsible for the of same part, then over-
lapping modification is inevitable.
To solve the problem, a book is divided
into smaller parts for separately process-
ing. Publishing executive can lock certain
pages to protect them from being inadver-
tently modified by others.

Security requirement
Book publishers are serious about copy-
right protection; therefore, the authorizing
must follow strict security requirements to
ensure database is fully encrypted and
securely stored.
We employ AES encryption algorithm to
encrypt and secure book contents. All
users operations are validated on server
system to make sure they have permis-
sion to open and edit the book. Thus,
books cannot be copied and edited by
others if they are not allowed.
A large amount of traffic
A scalable and resilient web-app is
required, which aimed at handling sessions
of different simultaneously. It should be to
consistently load even when experiencing
heavy traffic.
To satisfy the requirement, the system
was designed with optimized components
to support large numbers of users.
Communication tool
The mobile version is a digital education
tool used by teachers and students. The
problem is to develop system that can help
teachers interact with their students
through mobile app to increase education
quality.
We provide a set of various tool to support
teacher and student. Teachers and stu-
dents can take note, make comment and
do handwriting directly on ebooks

The introduction of the Authorizing tool has started a revolution in the publishing
industry. Instead of printing and selling books traditionally, now publishers with
the Authorizing tool can produce completed books that contain image, audio or
video. It is expected that the tool will reduce the financial burden for publishers
and help them save a large amount of money each year for printing books.
Mobile version has brought a new style for teaching process. It allows teachers
to give assignments to individual student and set the deadline for each assign-
ment. All comments and marks can be done directly on the PDF files. Students
can also receive their teachers’ marks and comments from the app, and can
send back their questions and feedbacks.
