Cook with devotion

  1. 1. COOKO WITH DEVOTION By Yoga Guru
  2. 2. • Material becomes Spiritual Food by certain tecniques • Prasadam means offered food • Patram pushpam phalam toyam yome bhaktya prayachhati tadaham bhakti upahrtam ashnami prayataatmanah “If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit, or water, I will accept it.” He says, “I accept the bhakti.”
  3. 3. • Prasad means anugrah or grace or mercy of Lord • Bhakti is the most important ingredient • Lord says ‘Prasade sarva dukhanaam haanirasyopajayate’ 2.65 BG • Arjuna says ‘nasto moha smrtir labhda tvath prasadan mayachuta’ 18.73 BG
  4. 4. • Offering karma, jnana, bhakti, everything is the offering which HE needs. • Realize that whatever we offer has been created by HIM only. • We are just act as if we have made! • We do not have the right or qualification to directly approach Lord. We handover the answer paper to the invigilator and not to the examiner!
  5. 5. • We need to offer without any expectation like material wealth, settled life, son/daughter’s education or marriage. • Bhakti should be informed and not fanatical devotion. Jnana poorvaka Bhakthi… • There may be some faults in our bhakti but still Lord accepts accordingly but never punishes. There is no negative marks in Krishna Bhakti!!!
  6. 6. • Ye yathamam prapadhyante thamsthathaiva bhajamyaham… “As all surrender unto Me, I reward them accordingly.” (Bg. 4.11) • yat karoshi yad ashnasiyaj juhoshi dadasi yat yat tapasyasi kaunteya tat kurushva madarpanam • Krishna is saying, “Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer or give away, and whatever austerities you perform—do that, O son of Kunti, as an offering to Me.” (Bg. 9.27)
  7. 7. • These include meat, fish, eggs, onions, mushrooms, garlic, burned rice, white eggplant, buffalo and goat milk products, and milk with salt in it. Also, one should not offer canned or frozen foods to the deity, and it is best to avoid offering foods containing unhealthy substances such as yeast and white sugar. • Avoid eating foods from a non devotee
