  • 2. • Charlie Chaplin was born in 16th of April 1889 in London. His parents were an actors and young Charlie wanted to become actor since childhood. He played in theater first time when he was 5 years old. His mother lost her voice in the middle of performance so young Charlie finished song by himself.
  • 3. • He got his first constant job in theater in a play Sherlock Holmes when he was 14 years old. It was very hard time for Charlie because his parents died. Also he couldn’t read so his older brother Sidney(who was an actor too) helped him to learn the role.
  • 4. When he was in tour in USA in1911 he got an offer to start playin the cinema. He had a lot ofarguments with director MachSennet. But He started tobecome famous. After two yearsworking with Mack he realizedthat he can’t go further. So heleft the studio and started tomake his own films.That is the most important partof his life
  • 5. • He made his own image – The Tramp. It was made on contradictions: he was a tramp but he got gentleman manners, he got very big shoes and very small hat, also he got very small moustache.
  • 6. • In 1919, Charlie co- founded the United Artists film distribution company with Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks and D. W. Griffith.• Activities in this company make him world wide famous.
  • 7. • He died in 25th of December 1977• On 1 March 1978, his corpse was stolen by a small group of Swiss mechanics in an attempt to extort money from his family.
  • 8. • In 1917 he made a one million dollars contract so he became the most expensive actor that time. He was just 28.• During his life he played in 88 films.• Because of his films he couldn’t go to USA; in his films he mentioned very serious racist problems about USA.
  • 9. I think that he is an outstanding comedian becausehe was continuing to make people happy all his lifesince childhood to death.His jokes are very common so his films are suitablefor anyone.
