Under Title II of the ADA, Courts are required to take steps to ensure that their communications with people with disabilities are as effective as communications with others.

How does an individual who does not speak participate in the courtroom?
A speech language pathologist (SLP) may assist people who need to communicate with lawyers and Judges in a court setting.
