  • 1. Food Map (Dietary Requirement Database)
  • 2. What will the product be?
    • A cross platform App for smart-phones including;
      • I-phones, Androids, HTC phones etc.
  • 3. Who is our Cat?
    • People who have dietary requirements including but not limited to:
      • Coeliac Disease
      • Vegetarian Diet
      • Vegan Diet
      • Diabetes
      • Raw
      • NB: This choice can be amended or added to at a later date. Eg. Halal, Kosher etc.
  • 4. Who is our Cat? Pt. 2
    • People who know people who have dietary requirements e.g. parents of children who have them, friends of people who have them, societies etc.
      • NB: At the moment we will not be catering to severe allergies that can result in anaphylactic shock as we are not doctors and will not be liable for severe reactions.

    • HTML5
    • JavaScript
    • MySQL
    • PHP
    • Photoshop
    • Illustrator
    • Dream Weaver 5
    • Googlemaps
  • 6. Functionality
    • Databases hold the information about the restaurant locations and foods available
    • JavaScript takes User Input to gain information to access important Output from the database for the User
    • Call Function: gets the phone to ring the restaurant from the App
    • Links to restaurant websites/ Facebook pages
    • Googlemaps to give locations but not directions to the restaurant itself
  • 7. Roles
    • Research
      • Getting restaurant information
    • Developer/ Programmer
      • Makes prototype, maintains the App
    • Maintenance
      • Works with the restaurants for week to week changes, works with the boards to approve accreditation. E.g. Coeliac/ Vegetarian/ Vegan Society of Ireland etc
      • Investigating the possibility of having the app involved as part of the package when you subscribe to become part of the society (whichever requirement it may be).
  • 8. Will I be able to do it on my own?
    • Yes, I do. While my programming experience outside of this course is minimal, everything I will need for this App, I am learning in Charlie Cullen’s class and Cindy Liu’s class.
