  • 2. OVERALL IDEAOur chosen subgenre was American Gangster.Our original idea was: An autistic child drowns the mafia don’s cat. The fatherof the child owes a favour to the mafia and when the mafia hear of the cat’sdeath they order the father to kill the autistic child. He goes into hiding, but issoon found by the mafia and his entire family are killed.The film following the sequence would tell the story of the father’s revengeon the mafia.

  • 7. LOCATIONThese are the two locations that we have thought about using.In the end we decided that we would use the studio to createour locations. This is because there isn’t many places that looklike they are from the 1940s and this is the time period that weare basing our title sequence in but, we will probably use theselocations to shoot the outdoor scenes.

USING, CHALLENGING AND DEVELOPING GENRE CONVENTIONS.In our title sequence we will be using these genre conventions: Tension Set in the 1940s Typical gangster costume (dinner suit, red flower etc)We are going to challenge the conventions by: Instead of following the story of the mafia it will follow the life of a man who seeks revenge on them.
