Practical Internship Programme
Since 1970, the Sara Beattie College has been training the best office professionals. One
of the reasons for our success is the compulsory internship that each student must
undertake prior to the completion of the Diploma in Professional Office Administration.
The Internship Programme aims to provide Trainee Office Professionals with the
opportunity to gain hands-on work experience and apply the skills that they are
developing during their studies.
For the partner-company, the programme represents an opportunity to benefit from
additional secretarial/administrative support at no cost. All that is required of the
company is a little of time to show the Trainee her duties, and to introduce her to the
office procedures.

Guest Speaker Programme
The Sara Beattie College believes that its Trainees must have exposure to the real-world
throughout their studies. The College successfully operates a programme where Guest
Speakers visit the College to introduce the girls to topics of interest and relevance that will
assist them in both their professional and personal development.
For the guest speaker, the programme represents an opportunity to interact with the
office professionals of the future and share their valuable knowledge and experience.
All talks are conducted in English. Talks have been delivered in the past by private
companies and charities. Both the students and the guest speakers find these sessions
enjoyable and rewarding.

Field Trip Programme
Visits to companies provide the students of Sara Beattie College an insight into what
working environments are actually like. It prepares them for the transition into the
workplace and provides valuable exposure to other working professionals.
Small groups of around 10 students accompanied by Management and Teaching staff
visit an organisation for around one-hour. Visits usually entail a tour around the office
premises, viewing of the core business activities and an introduction to some of the major
clients of the business by a knowledge member of staff.
The students are also encouraged to ask questions, thus improving their communication
skills and increasing their knowledge of the real-world business environments.
