My plan for my film in terms of target audience is thatit will have a potentially universal appeal however my main target audience is 16-24. Different people will take different approaches; some might take anoppositional approach and read against the grain, an example of this is for example someone in their 50s watching my film. I have targeted my audience by specifically choosing young people to act in my film; I’ve purposely done this because this will create abond with my targeted audience. I hope my audience will know that i have specifically targeted them.
My film is very emotional there are different story lines that will hopefully engage the audience, for example thescenes of domestic abuse, drug abuse and gun and knife crime. By doing this my aim is to highlight these issues as they are rapidly growing amongst youths. It can beargued that my film is not original as most London based films have a similar story. I hope that my audience can relate to the characters’ lives maybe enabling them tochange their ways or even re think their lives. I would say that my film is real, it’s authentic as it highlights the issues regarding youths today without sugar-coating theissues, and it gets straight to the point. The ending of my trailer is meaningful, with the knife scene at the end the audience is left wondering who dies, this makes my ending satisfying.
Some will argue that my film is cliché because theythink the story line is predictable, i have successfully avoided this by leaving a little cliff hanger at the end, the audience knows that someone will didn’t know who, this created mystery.
