  • You will find that the library here is much bigger then you are used to. Where to look for information? •Library Subject Guides •Library Catalogue •Summon •Databases If you don’t know which resources to use the Library Subject Guide for MBA Distance Learners is the best place to start. Look under the “Resources” tab for •recommendations on subject specific databases •advise on how to effectively search these resources •how to troubleshoot access problems.

SummonGood for:• Searches across most of the library’s resources in one simple search• Finds journal articles, books, e-books, and other publication types• Very easy to refine your results by: full-text, content type (e.g. scholarly journals), subject, publication date, etc.Not so good for:• Doesn’t search ALL databases, specifically non-journal databases.• Some glitches when connecting through to articles! – see link: http://libguides.mdx.ac.uk/content.php?pid=217011&sid=2383234

Databases You can also select to search individual databases, some very useful databases include:• Business Source Complete 5000+journals, Industry and Country Profiles, Company Information…• Emerald Academic & professional literature covering Business, Economics, Management• Keynote 3000+ UK & European Market Intelligence Reports, and Business Ratio Reports• Passport GMID (Global Market Information Database) Provides key business intelligence on industries, countries and consumers. Includes: country & industry statistics, market reports, company information, country profiles & briefings, strategy briefings, consumer lifestyle statistics and comment on emerging industry, country and consumer trends.
