What McAfee products are supported?
The Home User products that are currently supported are the latest versions of
VirusScan, VirusScan Professional, Wireless Network Security, Easy Network,
SiteAdvisor, Data Backup, QuickClean, Shredder, Personal Firewall Plus, Personal
Firewall, Privacy Service, SpamKiller, AntiSpyware and SecurityCenter.
For Business Users, VirusScan Enterprise, Common Management Agent,
VirusScan Classic, McAfee Desktop Firewall, Protection Pilot, AntiSpyware
Enterprise, ePolicy Orchestrator, GroupShield Exchange, Total Protection for Small
Business - Virus & Spyware Protection, Total Protection for Small Business –
Firewall Protection, GroupShield Domino, SpamKiller Domino, SpamKiller
Exchange, WebShield SMTP, Host Intrusion Prevention Server, Host Intrusion
Prevention Client, McAfee Policy Enforcer are currently Supported.

What platforms are supported?
Microsoft Windows (98SE, ME, 2000, 2003, XP and XP Professional) platforms are
supported at this time. MacIntosh, UNIX, Linux, Palm or Wireless are not
supported in this release.
Which browsers are supported?
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and above.
What gets downloaded onto my computer?
A signed McAfee .exe file is downloaded to your computer. This is required in
order for the McAfee Virtual Technician to analyze the integrity of installed McAfee
What information are you collecting about me?
McAfee Virtual Technician only collects details about the installed McAfee products
and the operating system.
Why does MVT not work on my computer?
McAfee Virtual Technician requires that you accept the Terms and Conditions
outlined. Once this is accepted, McAfee Virtual Technician should start.
How often can I run McAfee Virtual Technician to check my system?
You can run McAfee Virtual Technician to check your system whenever you face a
problem with any of the supported McAfee products. Please see the McAfee
Virtual Technician Walk Through Guide for more detailed directions.
How should I use this site?
Before calling McAfee Technical Support, download the MVT tool. MVT
automatically checks the integrity of McAfee products. The tool analyzes and
resolves most commonly known problems.
What should I do if McAfee Virtual Technician shows ‘problems found’?
Please follow the suggestions given to resolve any issues.
How do I tell McAfee about any of the ‘Problems found’?
Any problems found, are automatically uploaded to McAfee to improve product

Why won't McAfee Virtual Technician (MVT) install when I set Maximum
Protection mode in McAfee AntiSpyware?
To Run MVT, first save the standalone (.exe) version of MVT and then run it.
