  • Business Need (from different sources) Business Need is translated into an IT Initiative (by various authorities). What is impact on: IT Strategic Plan, Policy- Support , requires change to? (CIO & ITMC) Resources- Can we afford it? and when? (IRB-prioritize based on resources) Enterprise Architecture- Does it comply with?, require change to? (ARB & DAT) If passes muster, initiative is “projectized” and is now managed within project management discipline & processes. When project is completed, it is “operationalized”. Once in operational steady-state: continual operational quality assurance processes are performed to insure quality & service levels. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) processes are used to insure customer requirements are met.
  • Selection – includes resources, $, authority, … Project Management – includes org discipline (don’t have CPIC w/o PM)
