  • Welcome to the PMI-NEW Chapter Orientation course. The purpose for this course is to give you an opportunity to learn more about how the chapter works and for us to learn more about why you joined the chapter. We’d like to make sure you are getting what you need from your membership with PMI-NEW. Thank you for your time.
  • We’ll cover 4 main points for this course: 1.) Chapter Information 2.) Chapter Events 3.) Training & Certification Opportunities 4.) Volunteerism Opportunities
  • The chapter’s mission is… Tell us more about you: Why join? What are you hoping to get out of membership with PMI-NEW? What programs or topics of interest do you have? How can we contribute to your success? The Membership team should introduce new members at the general meeting during announcements.
  • More information on these initiatives will be posted to the PMI-NEW website.
  • There is a ‘register’ button next to the event.
  • Also note that we offer a 3 day class as needed. [email_address]

  • PMI-NEW Chapter Orientation
    • It’s hard to believe, but another summer has come and gone. The Board of Directors is busy preparing for the upcoming year with work ranging from lining up speakers for events to working on our strategic plan. Sometimes, we get so caught up in the tasks at hand that we forget to step back and look at the big picture. It’s amazing to me how much we have grown over the past few years.
      • PMI-NEW now offers so many great opportunities:
      • Local and affordable project management programs and skill development workshops
      • Certification training taught be certified professionals locally
      • Networking opportunities with experienced project managers
      • A project management library containing greater than 30 books
      • On-line resources at PMI.org
      • National world-wide educational and leadership development events
      • Established standards and tools for project management, program management and portfolio management
      • Organizational and practitioner assessment tools
      • World class project management journals
    • We are also working hard to continue to expand our services and offerings for our members. One initiative planned for this year promises to be very interesting. The Ex Officio is leading an effort to determine if we should establish a branch in our Central region to better meet the needs of the members in that area. This will be a great learning opportunity and could end up being one of the first branches established in all of PMI.
    • This and the other initiatives that the Board of Directors will be developing over the coming year will provide many great services for the members as well as volunteer opportunities. Volunteering is a great way to earn PDUs as well as contribute to the growth of the organization. If you have any interest or questions, please contact our Vice President of Volunteering, Tim Healey.
    • Thanks and I look forward to seeing you all at the upcoming chapter events.
