  HA1 - Technical File – Raster Graphic

  Raster Graphics are graphics that
  show the rectangular pixels that
makes that image up. These pixels
are viewable from a computer monitor
and paper. Each pixel holds data
  used in creating the image.
These graphics are easier to manage
  than Vector Graphics. Raster
  Graphics are more used in
  photography editing. CMYK is usually
  used in Raster Graphics. Photoshop
and Painter are used to edit pixels
  (Raster Graphics). This Graphic is
  based on cantones whereas Vector
Graphics are based on line. The
Raster graphics are made of pixels, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raster_graphics Is
this means the image is easier to edit where I found my information on Raster Graphics.

  used to make the image.

  HA1 - Technical File – Vector Graphic

Vector Graphics are used in lines,
   points, curves and shaped to
   make images. Vector and
   Bitmap/Raster work well together
                                          This is a example
   to make images. A mathematical
                                          of the differences
Formula is used when it comes to
                                          between the two
   making a Vector Graphic. This
                                          graphics>.

  HA1 - Technical File –Antialiasing

Antialiasing is a software used to convert images with
jagged stair like edges to smooth edges. The reason an
image may have jagged edges is because to monitor
may not have a high enough resolution to create smooth
lines. Antialiasing software creates a gray outline around
the image to loose its stair like appearance, but this does
make the imaged fuzzy in some cases. This method is
sometimes called oversampling. It is also used in video
  games and graphic cards.

  HA1 - Technical File – Resolution
Resolution is the number of dots or pixels used in an image. The higher
the resolution the clearer the picture/image. This refers to film and digital
images. The resolution can be measured in lines per mm. The image bellow
   shows the different pixel resolution.
Spatial Resolution is the resolution of lines.
Spectral Resolution is the resolution of colour.
Temporal Resolution is where high-speed cameras can change 100 frames
into 1000 frames so that the image produced after is clearer.
Radiometric Resolution determines how finely a system can represent or
   distinguish differences of intensity.

                                                                                   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Im

  HA1 - Technical File – Aspect Ratio

Aspect Ratio is the ratio of an image( height and width). This is used in These ratios are
motion pictures it determines the physical size of the film. Television very common.
and computer monitors use 4:3 and HD televisions use 16:9 (16 being
the length and 9 being the height). In the 1950’s almost all the motion
pictures were 1.33:1. Aspect ratios are used to determine whether a
web banner can fit on a web page. In still image photography the
aspect ratio is usually 4:3 or 3:2.

                                                                  <These are the

  HA1 - Technical File – File Formats
File format is the information that is encoded in a computer file. Gif, Jpeg, Tiff,
Eps, PSD and PDF are some of the file formats found when saving a document.
There 195,112 different file formats while all depend on the different files,
programs and other data. These different formats compete with each other and
  also perform differently.
Gif- This file format stores colour graphics such as moving images.
Jpeg- This file format stores digital images and compresses them.
Tiff- Tiffs are a file format that stores images that have been manipulated.
Eps- Eps can store text a long with an image such as logos.
PSD- This file format can easily store files that have layered images.
PDF- PDF was created by adobe so that their files could be portabily moved
  from one computer to another.

                                                      http://www.answers.com/topic/file-format

  HA1 - Technical File – Colour Model

A colour model is a mathematical model
describing the way colours can be
   represented as numbers. Televisions transmit
light using the additive; red, blue and green
which helps the viewer see a clearer image.
The RGB model consists of red, blue and
Green. The CMYK consist of cyan,
   magenta, yellow and black.

                                                   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_model

  HA1 - Technical File – Adobe Photoshop
Photoshop is a programme used to edit photos
and images. The default file for Photoshop is
PSD. A PSD can support images that have be
edited in various ways. It was created by
Thomas Knoll in 1988. You are able to crop,
retouch, slice and modify colour. The
programme is used by many magazine
companies and used a lot in advertisements
such as posters and web banners. When
editing a landscape photo you are able to
enhance colour and shadows. The files can
also be saved as JPEG, TIFF, DNG.
Photoshop can also be found as an android
app. Unlike most photo editing software it’s
strengths are pixel based images. Using
Photoshop you can change an image
  completely

  HA1 - Technical File – Adobe Illustator

Illustrator is a vector graphics editor
released 1987 by Adobe. Like Photoshop,
Illustrator is able to edit photos but Illustrator
is used in design and logo based work. It
also used in web design and rastirzaion.
Shapes and images can be layered on top of
each other to make various designs and
images. Similar to Photoshop you can layer
objects such as shapes and images so
make a final image. You are able to add
shapes, modify colour, place text and draw
using the paint brush or pencil tool.
Illustrator projects can be saved as the files
 bellow.

  HA1 - Technical File – Adobe InDesign

InDesign is a programme hat is used to make
leaflets, posters, magazines and brochures. It
was first released in 1999. Like all adobe
software it can be exported as PDF. You are
able to design and create pages for websites
and tablets. You can also create projects for
print such as double page spreads and book
covers. The editing software on InDesign is
limited compared to Illustrator and Photoshop,
but where these programmes fails, InDesign
succeeds. InDesign is capable of creating
whole web pages, despite of it’s limited editing
  capabilities of images and shapes.
