      • Aims to facilitate industry, academia and government innovation partnership projects in the high-tech sector so as to create;

    4. ACTIVATOR – Background
      • In 2004, TIH got exposure to Finnish CoE programme through visit to Finland
      • CoE model impressed TIH as a means to move from focusing on TIH park into regional innovation impact
      • Approached COFISA for support for Nov 2007 – Nov 2009
      • Conducted feasibility study in June 2007
      • Started inception phase in November 2007
      • Selected two ICT projects for pilot implementation in March 2008
      • Developed new identity in October 2008

    6. ACTIVATOR – Projects Requirements
      • Project consortia must include 1x Large company, 1x university or R&D institution and 1 or more SMEs
      • Innovation projects in the high-tech sector closer to market
      • Projects representing opportunity to expand stakeholder base by involving multi-helix role players and expanding innovation output into different areas.

      • Identify projects that provide opportunities for collaborative innovation outcomes
      • Assist project consortia with defining project plans which include; project objectives, business case for commercialization, schedule, milestones, funding model and measurement criteria
      • Assist projects with identifying suitable model to deal with ownership, shareholder equity, IP rights.
      • Define model to develop value-add opportunities for SME and job creation through project
      • Continuously source industry-led innovation projects to build portfolio of good projects
      • Provide brand visibility for project consortia
      • Assistance with accessing funding for the projects
      • Stakeholder management – partner matchmaking
      • Project management
      • Ensure project alignment with ACTIVATOR objectives and sustainability
