(West Carrollton, Ohio Plant) Senior Process Engineer (1990 - 1991) Provided technical services to paper machine departments on all facets of fourdrinier papermaking and process control. Developed production system to guarantee recycled fiber content enabling introduction of the market's first carbonless paper product with 10% post- consumer waste fiber. Spearheaded mill development of the market's first heavyweight sheet product guaranteed to achieve faster press speeds than competitors' products. Reduced contaminant related losses by $47K annually, without cost, by leading effort to properly install, document, and operate existing pressure screening equipment. Quality Assurance Engineer (1988 - 1989) Analyzed test data, broke, and rework trends. Designed and implemented quality testing programs. Supervised 14 department testers. Identified quality defect costing the company $1.8 million annually and implemented mill corrective action. Reduced customer complaints by 60% on a critical heavyweight product by evaluating and instituting a predictive quality test. Improved laboratory procedures and test equipment performance using the techniques of SPC. 1993 Roadway Logistics Systems (Research & Development) Marketing Department Summer Intern Developed marketing resources for use in the introduction of a revolutionary product/service. Developed databases for communicating product information to potential customers, trade associations, periodicals, and academic programs. Evaluated computer hardware and software products for sale or lease to customers to enhance the value of the primary product/service. 1992 The Pillsbury Company (Minneapolis Headquarters) Distribution Operations Summer Intern Managed the database development and daily utilization of a PC-based load consolidation program for inbound raw materials. Increased consolidation savings 10.7% above plan for total summer savings of $59,900. Identified procurement procedural problems and recommended corrective actions.
