IEEE BRAC University Chapter The Inaugural Session of the IEEE BRAC UniversityStudent Branch was held on the 6th of July 2008 at theIndoor Games room of BRAC University. The studentbranch was officially inaugurated amidst rounds ofapplause when Professor Saifur Rahman, Chief Guest of theevent, launched the student branch website(http://ieee.bracu.ac.bd). Prof. Rahman is the Director ofthe Advanced Research Institute at Virginia Tech and isalso the former Vice President of the IEEE PublicationsBoard. The Special Guest on the occasion was ProfessorAynal Haque from BUET who is currently the Chair of IEEEBangladesh Section. Professor Jamilur RezaChowdhury, the Vice Chancellor of BRAC University wasalso present in the event.
IEEE Foundation President & IBMDirector visits BRACUIEEE Foundation President Dr. Richard J. Gowen and IBMs Director atResearch Dr. Kris Srikrishnan visited BRAC University on 31st August. IEEEBRAC University Student Branch invited Dr. Gowen and Dr. Srikrishnan,who were in Bangladesh for a very brief period, to share their experienceswith students of BRACU.
