  • GEW is the world ’s largest celebration of you—the smart, creative and sometimes crazy people who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and make the world a better place to live.
  • What else is going on around the world during GEW—besides 60+ Startup Weekend events?
  • Facilitator As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, we are all participating in the Global Startup Battle. There are 60 Startup Weekends happening all over the world over two weekends! The winner from this Startup Weekend will compete in the Global Startup Battle to become the Global Champion! If your team wins, then you will have 24 hours to submit a 90 Second pitch (November 13 winners must post their videos by 11PM PST on November 14, and November 20 winners must post their videos by 11PM PST on November 21 , and the global voting will begin on November 22 and run through November 28, 11PM PST. Votes will be counted and verified, and the winner will be announced on November 30.
  • Organizer The Global Champion will win these prizes in addition to the local prizes. If our city wins, not only will you be representing your team, but our city on a world stage at Demo Asia! The winner also gets web design/branding services from Btrax, a legal package from Cooley Law, and a PR launch package from the Kauffman Foundation!
  • FACILITATOR Organizer ’ s will write down the title of each pitched idea, the order number , and the name of the pitcher on a sheet of paper. Once all pitches have been finished (during the 30 minutes of networking), organizers will post each idea on a wall/window and hand out 3 blank sticknotes to each participant. - These are your votes, don ’ t lose them! You ’ ll then have 30 minutes to place your stickynotes on the ideas you ’ d like to see worked on over the weekend. You can vote for your own idea if you want, and you ’ re welcome to paste all 3 votes on 1 idea or spread them out. (Note: you don ’ t need to write your name on the stickynotes: it ’ s all anonymous.) After the 30 minutes are up we ’ ll take down the ideas and tally the votes to determine the top ideas.
