General Ledger Auto Updates Upon Job Completion VI-1002OverviewThis Extended Solution to the Visual Integrator module allows the user to attach a commandto a General Ledger VI job. This command will attempt to print and update the GeneralJournal when the VI job is complete. Data will then be written to a log file if any standardMAS90 MAS 200 errors are encountered in that update.InstallationBefore installing this Extended Solution, please verify that the version level(s) printed onthe CD label are the same as the version level(s) of the MAS 90 MAS 200 module(s) you areusing. For further information, please see the Upgrades and Compatibility section below.Check your Shipping Manifest for a complete list of Extended Solutions shipped.Installing Your Extended Solutions under WindowsFrom a CDIf you have the autorun function turned on for your PC, the installation program will start upautomatically. If not, find the autorun.exe file on your CD-ROM drive and double-click it tostart the installation program. Follow the on-screen instructions.Extended Solutions Control CenterInstalling any Extended Solution will add an Extended Solutions Control Center to the MAS90 MAS 200 Library Master Utilities menu. When you open the Control Center, the followingoptions will be available: • Extended Solutions Manuals • Remove Extended Solutions • Unlock Extended Solutions • Merge Installation Files • Extended Solutions Setup optionsSetupOnce the disk is installed, you will need to access the Visual Integrator Setup menu optionscreen. After the standard MAS 90 MAS 200 option screens have been displayed, a Setupscreen for this Extended Solution will appear. Accept the defaultSequence value and enter ‘..VIVIZ_02;General_Journal’in the Command field. The entry is not case sensitive (Figure 2). This will cause the enhancement to execute the General Journal Print (using DeferredPrinting) and then Update process after the import has completed. This process willcommence regardless of the success or failure of the import.If the General Journal Print or Update fails due to errors that would be reported by theJournal Error Log, that data will be captured to a log file: General_Journal_YYYYMMDD>.txt.The log entry will be prefaced with the Company Code, and will report the information thatwould have been provided by the standard General Journal Error Log. There will be onecontinuous log per General Journal and date. The automatic General Journal Print and Update will not be performed if Batch Processing for General Journal Entry is turned on. The Journal Error Log will report that “… Update not started - The General Journal entry files are empty”.You can view the log in a .txt format at the location specified at setup.There is no MAS200 view or purge option for this file. Upgrades and CompatibilityThe installation CD is labeled with the version of the MAS 90 MAS 200 module for which thisExtended Solution was prepared. This Extended Solution will check its compatibility withthe appropriate MAS 90 MAS 200 modules and will be disabled if an incompatibility is found.If you upgrade your MAS 90 MAS 200 modules, this Extended Solution must be upgraded aswell. Your MAS 90 MAS 200 dealer can supply this upgrade.DocumentationOnly changes made by SWK Technologies, Inc. to the standard operation of MAS 90 MAS200 have been documented in this manual. Operations not documented in this manual arestandard procedures of MAS 90 MAS 200 processing. Standard MAS 90 MAS 200 processes,data entry screens, inquiry screens, reports, updates, etc., have not been changed unlessaddressed in this document.Parts of this document may refer to the Specific Purpose Rule.
