WORKING METHOD - CAPTURE <ul><li>Shoots with at 4x5 Sinar P2 and scans the negatives </li></ul><ul><li>He uses has used digital backs but he says that he doesn’t get a large enough file that way. </li></ul><ul><li>Digital Back = 180MB file = 24”x30” max print </li></ul><ul><li>Scanned 4x5 negative = 500MB File </li></ul>

WORKING METHOD – IMAGE MANIPULATION <ul><li>Scans with no color profile </li></ul><ul><ul><li>He says that this give him a very soft image </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Then does all tonal adjustments in Photoshop </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Photoshop workflow is relatively simple </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Contrast, color, sharpening </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Saturation and perspective Issues </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Sometimes some reconstruction by adding or subtracting elements </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Color is a critical part of preproduction </li></ul><ul><ul><li>He is very conscious of the color of his model and how it relates to the environment </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Very little color manipulation goes on in postproduction </li></ul></ul>
