The 3rd US-Saudi Business Opportunities Forum was held Sep 16-18, 2013, bringing together officials, business people, educators and specialists highlighting the U.S.-Saudi trade relationship and how U.S. companies can participate in Saudi Arabia's expansion.

Saudi Arabia is undergoing an extraordinary economic boom. Massive public investment, rapid private-sector growth and new sector initiatives are driving an expansion projected to offer more than $1 trillion in trade and investment opportunities over the next decade.

This panel of distinguished experts highlighted downstream petrochemicals and the national priority and international opportunity.

  • Good afternoon.
  • The Project Financing effort has achieved several milestones and closed the main financing ($12.5 billion) at very competitive rates. There were many great teamwork examples between the Founding Shareholders and Sadara including the Program Office. We successfully managed our cash-flow, and managed the approved 2013 Enterprise Operating Budget so far. As of the end of August, the Enterprise has spent $144.3 million against a budget of $540 million. The latest estimate at year-end is $434 million. Combined Enterprise and Program spending is expected to finish below the approved amount for 2013.Work continues as we transition finance activities from the Program Office to the Enterprise (such as administration of the ECA documentation). Finally we have improved the enterprise cost management processes; however, more needs to be done.
