The 3rd US-Saudi Business Opportunities Forum was held Sep 16-18, 2013, bringing together officials, business people, educators and specialists highlighting the U.S.-Saudi trade relationship and how U.S. companies can participate in Saudi Arabia's expansion.

Saudi Arabia is undergoing an extraordinary economic boom. Massive public investment, rapid private-sector growth and new sector initiatives are driving an expansion projected to offer more than $1 trillion in trade and investment opportunities over the next decade.

  • Baker Hughes has provided solutions to our customers in the Middle East, and specifically Saudi Arabia, for almost 80 years – Since our bits drilled Saudi Arabia’s famous Dammam #7 discovery well in 1936, we’ve been supplying Middle East oilfield technology and services that improve well productivity and extend production.
  • Since then, Baker Hughes continued supporting Oil & Gas business growth in Saudi Arabia its by providing Drill Bits Assembly, Drilling, Wireline and Completion Services and Drilling fluids and Specialized Chemicals through our JV Blending Plants in Dammam 1st Industrial Area.
  • Over the last 10 years, Baker Hughes, in anticipation to business growth and client future needs, has invested heavily in Saudi Arabia setting the right infra-structure for future. A $35M SuperBase was opened in April 2010 to combine Drilling and Measurement services, manufacturing and representing a hub to support “One Baker Hughes” GeoMarket structure that was launched in 2009 for better customer support. Expansion is undergoing to include Completion and Pressure Pumping Services in 2014.
  • A $37MM Baker Hughes Research and Technology Center inaugurated February 2012 brings together the competencies of Baker Hughes' engineers and scientists with those from the oil and gas industry of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals to develop application-specific solutions. The center is strategically located at the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Science Park at Dhahran Techno-Valley. The commitment of this center to offer research opportunities for students and post-graduates in different focus areas, ranging from petrophysics, drilling, geomechanics, fluids and production technology
  • Baker Hughes has heavily invested in R&D and introduced unique technical solutions to Saudi Arabia. Among those are the “Big-Bore MonoBore” completion developed to address the mega gas offshore fields, Equalizer Sand Screen and Equalizer Consolidated Formation designed to improve reservoir management and maximize oil recovery, Coil Tube Drilling provided access to new gas layers during well production, FASTrack increase reservoir knowledge while drilling and many others
  • Baker Hughes will continue expand and invest in Saudi Arabia. In 2012 we also opened our new Operation Base in Khafji to support our IO contract with KJO in the Neutral Zone and we are planning to open new Operation Base in Rob’a Al Khali to support our IO contract in this area, Tanajib to support offshore operations and Red Sea in anticipation to the future activities in the West Coast and North West Area
