    Roommate Requests Optional
    • Roommate Requests are optional . If you do not have a specific person in mind that you would like to room with, skip this page and go on to the next.
  • Roommate Requests
    • To request someone as a roommate he/she must either already be a student at SUNY Delhi or, if they’re an incoming student, have already paid a housing deposit for Fall 2011.
    • You may request up to 3 different people as roommates.
    • Roommates must all be the same gender.
    • It must be a mutual request—both people must request each other.
    • Requests must be in before June 1 st .
  • To request a roommate…
    • Click “select” and you will get this box:
    • Enter the first two letters of your friend’s first and last names.
    • Click “Search”.
    • If someone matches, you’ll see something like this:
You may get more than one name returned in the search. Click the arrow on the right for a drop down of all the names returned. If your friend is not listed, check with him/her to see if he/she has paid the housing deposit for SUNY Delhi yet.
    • If your friend’s name is there, select it and click “Confirm” and you’ll get this:
    • It will say “unconfirmed” until this person also selects you as a roommate. Both people must select each other for the request to go through.
    • You can select up to three roommates.
    • If you made a mistake and do NOT want this person as a roommate, you can click “Select” again and you’ll get this screen:
    • Click “Delete” to remove the roommate request.
    • If you want to, click “Search” to try to find a different person.
    Sally
  • Roommate Requests
    • After you complete the contract, select “ Edit Preferences ” and make sure that the answer to both these questions is “yes”:
Both students must request each other for the request to go through.
    • Does your friend’s name appear after the words “First Choice for Roommate”?
    • Does the word “confirmed” appear after your friend’s name?
To Avoid Disappointment…. Remember: Requests must be in before June 1 st .
    • It is important that the student (not a parent) answer these questions honestly , so we can do a better job matching roommates.
    Roommate Matching Information
  •
    • There are several rules regarding overnight guests. Please refer to the 2011-12 Housing Policy Guide.
    • This is the page where you can tell us about your housing preferences.
    • We house students primarily in the order in which we receive their housing deposits.
    • If your first choice is available when it is your turn to be assigned, we will give it to you.
    • Sometimes we have to go to lower-ranked choices due to availability.
    Housing Preferences Page
    • Please rank the halls in your order of preference. Please do NOT repeat a hall in your ranking.
Ranking the Halls It does nothing to increase your chance of receiving that hall as an assignment, and it provides less input from you if we have to go to a lower-ranked choice when making your assignment.
    • Please note that in fall term Murphy and O’Connor Halls will almost certainly be triple rooms—3 people in a room .
    • DuBois, Gerry and Russell Halls will be almost entirely double rooms—2 people in a room .
    Ranking the Halls
  • Transfer Students Only
    • Transfer Students may indicate an interest in living in Catskill Hall or the Riverview Townhouses.
If applying to live in the Riverview Townhouses, you must first read and agree to accept the terms and conditions set forth in the “2011-12 Riverview Housing Guide” (link provided).
    • Optional
    • There are 3 different optional areas for special interest housing available to new students:
    Special Interest Housing
    • Golf-related majors (males) housed in Russell Hall
    • Nursing majors (females) housed in DuBois Hall
    • Veterinary Science majors (females) housed in DuBois Hall
    • The Veterinary Science section is a Living Learning Environment (LLE) that requires an additional $50 charge per term to cover expenses related to a resource room, peer mentors and social programs.
    • There is no additional charge related to the Nursing or Golf areas.
    8a – Associate Degree Nursing
  • Special Interest Housing
    • Be sure to appropriately rank the hall associated with the special interest housing you request: Russell Hall for Golf, DuBois Hall for Nursing or Vet Sci LLE.
    • For Example: If your first choice is to live in the Vet Sci LLE, you not only need to select the Vet Sci LLE, you also need to rank DuBois Hall as your first choice. If you select the Vet Sci LLE and rank Murphy Hall first and DuBois Hall second, we will consider your first choice to be to live in Murphy Hall and the Vet Sci LLE in DuBois Hall as your second choice.
    8a – Associate Degree Nursing

    Sign the Contract
