  • 2. What is environmental pollution?
    Environmental pollution is the contamination of air, water and land from man-made waste. Pollution leads to depletion of the ozone layer, global warming and climate change.
  • 3. Characteristics
    Contaminants include herbicides and pesticides. Toxic waste are often in chemical form, these pollute the natural environment, and contaminate groundwater.
  • 4. Where it happens?
    Botanical Garden of Barranquilla Also known as “Arroyo de La Victoria” is located in “La Victoria”, in the southeastern part of the city.
  • 5. The Botanical Garden of Barranquilla?
    Is a communal green and recreational area for public use
    Approximate area of 7 hectares of great ecological importance.
  • 6.
  • 7. Whyisit a problem?
    It is a problem because this big area is not as cleaned as it is suppose to be.
    Also because many vandal groups take this place as a refuge for smoking and doing drugs.
    Another problem is that many waste from materials are laid here.
  • 8. Whydoesithappen?
    Government and political issues are not paying any attention to the problem.
    The projects that have been planned, were not carried out. They just remained in papers.
  • 9. Consequences it brings to the environment
    The loss of environmental services offered by this site as lung oxygen generation.
  • 10. General Objective
    The conservation and protection of flora and fauna associated with tropical dry forest ecosystem and the groundwater reservoir, which feels natural.
  • 11. Specific Objective
    To maintain a park as much clean as it is possible.
    To plant trees.
    to raise people’s awareness about the damage of this park.
  • 12. Justification
    • Thetreeswe are thinking of planting are these: almond , pizquín y majagua,anotherons are: mango y Ceiba, matarraton, totumo y flor amarilla.
