  • 1. Consumer Attitudes on Short-Term Rentals and Regulation The study was conducted on behalf of the Short-Term Rental Advocacy Center via an online omnibus survey conducted by Research Now, an independent research company. Interviews were conducted from June 17th to June 19th, 2013 among a nationally representative sample of 1,243 respondents age 18 and older. For results based on the total sample of national adults, one can say with 95% confidence that the margin of error is ±3 percentage points. These data were weighted to ensure that the sample’s composition reflects that of the actual U.S. population according to U.S. Census figures. In addition to sample error, question wording and practical difficulties in conducting surveys can introduce error or bias into findings of public opinion polls. Note: Totals may not add up to listed totals and 100% due to rounding. 1. Have you used a short-term rental – that is, in a vacation rental for less than 30 days – in the past two years?
