    • SQF Program is owned by Food Marketing Institute (FMI)
    • SQF Program is operated by the SQF Institute, a division of FMI
    • Stakeholder input and oversight
      • Technical Advisory Council (TAC) – made up of segments from all stakeholders in industry (retailers, foodservice, suppliers, service providers)
      • Technical Sub-committees – stakeholder groups which develop documents for review by the TAC
  • 4. The SQF Codes Both Standards have been benchmarked against the GFSI Benchmarking Document at Level 2 ARE NOT AUDIT CHECKLISTS SQF 2000 – A HACCP supplier assurance standard for the manufacturing sector SQF 1000 – HACCP based supplier assurance standard for primary producers

    • Strong Growth
      • 120% growth in program over the last 18 months globally
      • Steady growth in Australia and Asia Pacific region, strong growth in North America
      • SQF certificates now in 30 countries
      • SQF has now 357 registered auditors

    • From April 2009 – April 2010
      • Over 5000 students attended SQF course from 17 SQF training centers
      • 3,200 Implementing SQF 2000 exams passed
      • 316 SQF auditor exams passed
      • 468 Implementing SQF 2000 on-line courses taken
  • 11. SQF 1000 5 th Edition Update
    • 5 th Edition final version was released Sept 1 st , 2009
    • Updates
      • Expansion of scope of standard (grower, shipper, packer)

  • 12. SQF 2000 6 th Edition Update
    • SQF 2000 6 th Edition was finalized and posted in August, 2008
    • Updated in July 2010
      • Not a new version, no content was revised
      • New scoring protocols for major and critical NCs
      • Certificates for sub-sites in a multi-site certification
      • Updating of food sector categories
  • 13. SQF Ethical Sourcing Module
    • Module built combining the SQF modules (RSP, REP), retailer standards and the Global Social Compliance Program (GSCP)
    • To be combined with SQF certification audit
    • Expected to be 1 additional audit day
    • Auditors will be required to be SQF registered and undergo an additional training session on ethical sourcing module
