Science For Young People - Presentation Transcript

    1. SFYonline Getting young people involved in science and technology
    2. Intent/mission
      • To promote science/engineering and technology to the 14-18 years age group. Through creating stimulating communications to interest and involve the audience – the root being magazine and internet based - at an engaging level (cool and compelling)
      • We will show how impactful these subjects are in everyday life (real world), without which life would be significantly different – no microwave, TV, phone or even iPhone!
    3. Intent/mission
      • We would like to get support and endorsement from “high profile” and “recognised” personalities to generate more even greater traction
      • We are also giving back some of our earned profits too as a means of further supporting our mission – actual focus to be defined .
    4. Endorsement
      • We are already in discussion with a number of organisations and agencies who are expressing high degrees of interest and are immensely supportive
    5. The communication
      • Facilitating the joining up of academia with career and “real world” applications
      • Creating a forum for views and feedback
      • Linking people together with a common vision or goal
      • Establishing a cool “association” to the subjects
    6. Reaching the audience
      • We are hand delivering to 35,000 homes with teenagers in our launch period, and looking to increase both within Herts as well as adjacent counties with later editions
      • And delivering quantities into the 80+ schools in support to make content available
    7. Reaching the audience
      • Our approach enables us to target specific messages for our audience. Additionally we get added “stickiness” for the magazine. Moreover parental involvement is more assured
      • With contributions from schools, teachers, academics, students, business, we are confident of a buzzing community of like-minded supporters
    8. Conclusion
