  2. 2. Iona Prep service<br />After months of fundraising and preparation, groups of students traveled to New Orleans and Perúfor their respective service trips. Their dedication and hard work changed the lives of many and inspires others to do the same... <br />

  4. 4. Working with Operation Helping Hands, we were able help a small part of New Orleans damaged by Hurricane Katrina…<br />
  5. 5. Getting our supplies ready for the day ahead!<br />
  6. 6. Starting off at one of the houses…<br />
  7. 7. Our group spent four days working on this home around the Garden District of New Orleans<br />
  8. 8. Priming…<br />…and scraping!<br />
  9. 9.
  10. 10. Saying goodbye to a finished house and happy mother!<br />
  11. 11. Starting work on our other house.<br />
  12. 12. Caulking the outside of the home!<br />
  13. 13.
  14. 14. And more painting at our second house!<br />

  16. 16. Our group met with students from other Catholic schools from around the country. <br />We spent the evening with the Brothers in New Orleans and learned about their own experiences.<br />

  20. 20. Empty lots and vacant homes…<br />
  21. 21. Many houses are still marked from the search and rescues teams after Katrina.<br />
  22. 22. Our new friend thanking us for our work.<br />
  23. 23. St. Raymond’s Catholic School has become the Catholic Charities headquarters for hurricane recovery volunteering.<br />
  24. 24. Much of the school was converted immediately after Hurricane Katrina. There was little time to salvage what was left.<br />

  29. 29. We spent several days building a home for a family that never had one.<br />

  44. 44. The faded convent walls were covered in graffiti and desperately needed to be painted. <br />

  51. 51. This couple’s home often sheltered the homeless and was quite crowded.<br />
