So, what is critical thinking?It is knowing and applying the gears ofthinking in a disciplined way so they guideyour beliefs and actions constructively andpredictably.Critical thinking does not mean finding faultwith anything except your own thinking…

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is not sticking them into fruit salads.

ACCURATE INTERPRETATIONS…the meanings of words used to think critically must be understood

DECODING IS EASY Decoding is simply understanding letters and numbers, i.e. literacy and numeracy

INTERPRETATION: DEFINITIONIn critical thinking, it is like a UNinterpreter who translates precisely:“…the explanation of the meaning orimportance of something.”

Like a UN interpreter, who dare not changewords, people should gain the sametranslation (definitions) to ensure thatsubsequent communication is based onaccurate footings...the same interpretations.

2ND GEAR: INTERPRETATIONIf you don’t have accurate interpretations(definitions) to really understand what wordsmean, you can’t hope for good outcomes bygear 6.

3RD GEAR: ANALYSISYou cant think or create outside of thebox if you dont know whats in the box.Analysis means to dissect somethingcarefully to understand the meaning ofeach piece and how it interacts with allthe others
