A lot of the problems we face are essentially man-made, so naturally as human beings we should alsobe able to reduce them. Natural disasters, of course, are in a different category, but according toenvironmental scientists even they may owesomething to human behavior. Therefore, if we areoptimistic, take a longer view, and we employ realisticmethods, we can contribute to making the world abetter place. -His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama February 16, 2012
Tropical rainforests account for 6 percent or less of the Earth’s surface yet 50 percent of all theworld’s species live in the rainforest. Just 50 years ago rainforests accounted for 14 percent of the Earth’s land surface. Scientist say that at the current rate of destruction the remaining 6 percent of the Earth’s rainforest will be gone by the year 2050. The SACRED 7 campaign is making a conscious effort to promote the protection of the remaining SACRED 6 percent of the world’s tropical rainforest while at the same time trying to increase this number one percent at time. We also vow to protect the 7 SACRED oceans of the world.
SACRED 7 Mission Preserve and restore sacred rainforests and oceans of the world by creating value through medical researchand the development of social and sustainable programs.
