Church In The Colonial Times
The American Colonies Had Houses Of Worship, But What The People Learned In Those Church Services Depended On Where They Lived.
In The New England Colonies, Parents Believed That Their Children Should Learn About Christianity. To That End, Parents Taught Their Children To Read So They Could Read The Bible.
Sunday Was A Very Important Day The Week There Was No Work On Sunday; It Was The Lord’s Day
There Were Very Few Schools
Parents taught their kids to read and write using a bible and hornbook (a wooden board with a handle).
Boys go to grammar school and even advance onto college. Boys learn to become shopkeepers and craftsman’s by assisting and Observing man at work.
Girls have special lessons on how to run a household, singing, play an interments, sewing, serving tea, manners, and how to have a polite conversation.
Then All Grades Were Mixed K-12

Farming And Food In The Colonial Times
Farming in colonial differed in many ways from farming today. The most significant difference was in what crops were grown where.
The American colonists got their food from several places. The modern supermarket that we know today, where you can get all kinds of food, was not an option back then

Today We Have Many Different Religions And Different Churches People Can Attend.
Now It Is Not Necessary For Everyone To Go.
When You Go To Church You Usually Have One Preacher Speaking. Unlike Then Everyone Did Something Different.

Now We Have Separate Schools For Different Grades Elem. K-5 Middle 6-8 And High 9-12.
Our Schools Are A Lot Bigger Than Then When They Had A One Room Schoolhouse.
Now They Have Buses That Will Come And Get Kids For School.

Food Today
Today all we have to do is go to the grocery store to buy our food we don’t have to hunt it.
We also don’t have to cook every night, we can go to a fast food restaurant or a dine in.
Today we have a larger variety of food to pick from.
