Materials: Board, Chalkboard, Chart III. Procedure: A. Routinary Activities: Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity “Good morning Class!” “Good morning Sir!” “Mr. /Ms._____, please leads the prayer.” (Mr./Ms._____, will lead the prayer.) “Thank You, kindly pick-up the dirt.” (Students will pick-up the dirt.) “Okay, take your sit.” (Students will sit properly.) B. Pre-activities: 1. Review: “Class, what do we have discussed last meeting?” “Mr./Ms._____, what have you learned with what we have discussed last meeting?” 2. Listening: “Okay class, Thank You! And now, I will read a dialog of 2 friends about the flower. Hope you like it.” (Students will listen attentively.) Sonia: Have you read or heard about the queen of Philippine orchids? Rodel: Not so much. But I admire the beauty of orchids. What makes it interesting? Sonia: Their flowers come in many different bright and vibrant colors. Maybe you’ve seen them in gardens, or in flower arrangements like bouquets and corsages. Rodel: Yes, I have seen some in our neighbor’s botanical gardens. Tell me more about one of the most beautiful orchids in the world. Sonia: Waling-waling? Rodel: Yes. What makes it so popular? Sonia: Of all the orchids, waling-waling has the much-sought-after round shape with overlapping petals and sepals. The flowers are flat and ideal for corsage making. Would you believe it was originally found growing wild only in the Philippines? Rodel: How was it discovered? Sonia: How waling-waling was discovered in Mindanao is an exciting story of adventure and surprises. Many stories and events have been told about the waling-waling but none as exciting as going to the city of Davao and seeing the best one. Rodel: Is it considered now as one of the endangered species? Sonia: Waling-waling is now very rare in the wild. Today, this flower is an endangered species. This flower is the most important contribution to the orchid world. Rodel: Really? I think we should be proud of it and help curb its extinction. It does not necessarily mean catching different species of fish like tuna, milkfish, salmon or mackerel. It means catching all kinds of living animals in the water like lobsters, shrimps, oysters and clams. Fish and other sea animals are the greatest food resources. All over the world, people fish in rivers, lakes and oceans. Most people in fishing countries of the world are fishers.” “Okay Mr./Ms._____, kindly underlines those words that are italicized.” D. Generalization: “Nouns are used to name something- people, places, (Mr./Ms._____, will underline at least one of the italicized words in the chart.)

  5. 5. I. Evaluation: In each sentence, find a noun (The students will get a piece which is plural in form but singular of paper.) in meaning. Write it on your paper. 1. You have done your Mathematics homework and to check it, you compare it with that of your classmate’s work. 2. Rino is helping Alfred with his report on the different species of insects. 3. During the survey of the people from Department of Health, measles is an epidemic in rural areas especially during summer time. 4. Of all the sports like basketball, volleyball, baseball and others, billiards is becoming popular. 5. Before the operation, the patient undertook a series of examinations. 6. Have you heard the good news? 7. Children find Mathematics difficult to some, it is interesting and enjoyable. 8. Mumps is a contagious disease and it usually breaks out during summer time. 9. Many students find Physics difficult. 10. The Philippines is made up of more than seven thousand islands. II. Assignment: “List down at least 5 other examples of (Students will get their nouns which are plural in form but singular in notes and copy what’s meaning. Then use it in your own sentence.” on the chart.)
