    9. 9. <ul><ul><li>Support Modes </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>ARC Sites </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>VC Connect-only = Tech connects the VC call, tests the connections for you, then leaves. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>VC Self-Support (Hosting) = You are ‘host site’ responsible for connecting all participating sites. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Host site is responsible for disconnecting calls when finished </li></ul></ul>
    10. 10. <ul><ul><li>VC Self-support (Receiving) = You are the ‘participating site’ waiting to be dialled into the VC session by the host site. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>AV Self-support = Session is local (not connected to other sites). No tech support. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>For VC Connect & VC Self -supported sessions, tech support is available to you only in an emergency . </li></ul></ul>

    16. 16. Turning on the System <ul><ul><li>Pick up the Tandberg remote control </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Press the “OK/Menu” button </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Wake up the system </li></ul><ul><li>Return to black screen after several minutes </li></ul>
    17. 17. Directory Dialling <ul><li>c. Press the ‘book’ button on the remote. </li></ul>Display a directory of IP addresses – sites within the Faculty of Medicine
    18. 18. d. Scroll down the directory e. Select the site you want to dial, press “ok/menu” <ul><li>To add more sites: </li></ul><ul><li>Press the “add more sites” button </li></ul><ul><li>Repeat steps c, d, & e </li></ul>
    19. 19. Manual Dialling <ul><li>a. Press the green “Call” </li></ul><ul><li>button </li></ul><ul><li>b. Enter the ip address on </li></ul><ul><li>the keypad. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>IP – </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Press * key for the dot </li></ul></ul><ul><li>c. Press the green “Call” button </li></ul>
    20. 20. Adjusting the Camera: 3000 MXP <ul><li>Press the arrow keys repeatedly to pan the camera up/down/left/right </li></ul><ul><li>Press “+” or “-” on the “Zoom” button to zoom in or out </li></ul><ul><li>DO NOT adjust the camera manually </li></ul>
    21. 21. Adjusting the Camera: 1700 MXP <ul><li>Camera cannot be adjusted by the remote on the 1700MXP </li></ul>

Connecting a Laptop (I) <ul><li>Turn off your laptop </li></ul><ul><li>Plug the laptop power cord into the outlet </li></ul><ul><li>Connect the laptop to the proper audio and video connectors </li></ul><ul><li>Turn on the power to your laptop. </li></ul>Mac Connectors, step C PC Connector, step C

Connecting a Laptop (II) - PC <ul><li>All Laptops </li></ul><ul><li>Set Display resolution </li></ul><ul><li>to 1024 x 768 </li></ul><ul><li>Dell: Press and hold “Fn” then Press “F8” </li></ul><ul><li>IBM: Press and hold “FN” then Press “F7 ” </li></ul><ul><ul><li>“ CRT/LCD” might display on some Dell laptops’ “F8” button </li></ul></ul>

Connecting a Laptop (III) – MAC <ul><li>Mac Laptops </li></ul><ul><li>Set Display resolution to 1024 x 768 </li></ul><ul><li>refresh rate 60 hz </li></ul><ul><li>Press and hold “Fn” then press “F7” </li></ul><ul><li>PowerBook G4 can use both VGA cable and Mac connectors. </li></ul><ul><li>MacBook and MacBook Pro can only use Mac connectors. </li></ul><ul><li>If you are not sure, call the VCSD </li></ul>
